8vo, 260pp.Il presente studio indaga la funzione cosmologica e cosmogonica che la prassi ritualistica divinatoria ebbe nel mondo Romano. Oltrepassato il livello dello scetticismo pregiudiziale, il materiale disponibile è stato considerato, alla luce della comparazione, nel suo svolgimento storico-culturale, al fine di rilevare gli elementi di continuità e di cambiamento prodottisi all'interno del sistema di divinazione di Roma antica, nel corso di quasi mille anni di storia. Ricostruire il significato religioso e civico della prassi ritualistica del sacra facere significa comprendere uno dei meccanismi essenziali di regolazione del sistema politeistico romano, del suo continuo ristrutturarsi nella storia, del suo rispondere alle sollecitazioni politico-religiose provenienti dall'esterno, senza rinunziare ai valori del mos maiorum.

Carta geografica tratta dal rarissimo "Anfiteatro d'Europa" edito a Venezia nel 1623. Il libro, scritto con testo di Giovanni Doglioni, fu pubbicato dall'editore veneziano Giacomo Sarzina. Illustrato da una carta del mondo e 33 carte dell'Europa ne testo. Stranamente le mappe sono riprese da quelle che illustrano l'Epitome di Ortelius incise da Philip Galle e non da quelle dell'edizione pirata della stessa opera pubblictaa a Brescia da Pietro Marchetti (1598). Si tratta pertanto di nuove lastre, che presentano picocle differenze rispetto a quelle del Marchetti, alle quali ad un primo esame assomigliano. L'opera non fu mai ristampata ed è pertanto rara. Incisione in rame, inserita nella pagina di testo descrittivo alla carta, fori di tarlo, per il resto in buono stato di conservazione. Paris, Onfroi, 1786. 4 volumes in-8 (200x125mm), (3)-XI-395-(3)pp. ; (1)-310pp. ; (1)-310pp ; (1)-362-(1)pp. Lettres sur l’Egypte illustré de 4 planches dépliantes (l’intérieur de la grande pyramide et 3 cartes), demi-veau époque, dos ornés à 5 nerfs, tranches marbrées, pièces de titre et de tomaison. Première édition, paris 1788. Avec les Lettres sur la Grèce, illustré d’un plan et d’une carte dépliante. Les 4 volumes en reliures uniformes, bel exemplaire. Contemporain de Volney, l’orientaliste Savary (1750-1788) contribua à une meilleure connaissance de l’Egypte. Son histoire et ses indications sur son gouvernement apportaient, à la veille de l’expédition d’Egypte, des renseignements précieux sur ce pays. « C’est un voyageur sérieux, documenté. Il a lu tous les voyageurs qui l’ont précédé et il en fait son profit ».
