The Greek American Operational Groups
VIDEO The U.S.s first experiment with clandestine commando warfare took place in World War II. Under a secret OSS plan, small groups of specially trained U.S. Army infantrymen of various ethnic backgrounds were infiltrated into occupied Europe to assist local partisan groups in resisting the Nazis. Among these secret ""Operational Groups" were Greek Americans, whose mission was to make the German withdrawal from Greece in 1944 as costly as possible. They succeeded far beyond expectations, but the records of their secret service were sealed for forty years, and their story is largely unknown. This short video brings their bravery to light in anticipation of a full-length documentary. Book

EIE 2008-2010. Brand new. In medieval greek. Two volumes. Cloth 33x22 cm 185220 pp. // An extremely important source of a legal congregation of the Orthodox Church established in 1564 under the title "NOMIMON of the Great Church." It remained in official use until the end of the 16th century. There is evidence that the crisis of the 1580s during which the patriarchal church of Pammacaristos was converted to a mosque did not affect this collection of ecclesiastical laws which was continued to be used after the transfer of the Patriarchate March 1592. Consequently this valuable written monument "was lost" from the Secretariat of the Patriarchate. Since then its traces have been lost and "Nomimon" was forgotten. Recently however two parts of this valuable legal synagogue were identified so valuable for the history of the institution and the history of the law: one in Samos island and the other in Paris. The author of the book studied systematically the contents identified the gaps and restored to their original position some pieces of the manuscripts that were moved; this book contains a facsimile reprint of the surviving parts of the "Nomimon". La prima edizione fu pubblicata a Parigi nel 1789. Questa napoletana, pubblicata anonima e dedicata a Francesco di Borbone delle Due Sicilie, è probabilmente la prima traduzione italiana .
