She also wrote two plays, A Season in Hell, which concerned the lives of the French poets Rimbaud and Verlaine, was successfully produced for the stage (1950) and Our Kind of People (1991) , an autobiographical production concerning a family of Jewish-Greek immigrants. Dalvens especial [sic] interest was in the history of the Jews in Greece, particularly the northern Ioannina community, who traced their ancestry to the ancient Palestinians (c300 BC) and had retianed their own customs and religious liturgy. She edited the academic journal the Sephardic Scholar and served as president of the American Society of Sephardic Studies (abitofhistory, 2018) . The present work is a comprehensive collection of all the most important Greek poets from 1751 to the 1940s. Mark Van Doren calls these English translations "natural and alive. All'interno buono-ottimo esemplare. Interessante studio del conte Tullio Dandolo dicato a questo importnte periodo della storia greca. Tullio Dandolo, nato a Varese nel 1801 e morto a Urbino nel 1870, fu autore di numerosi ed apprezzati studi di storia antica. Dopo la laurea in legge a Pavia, tra il 1821 al 1823, viaggiò in Francia, Inghilterra e Svizzera. Rientrato in patria, prese attivamente parte al Risorgimento italiano. Ancora in barbe. In-8°, leg. in bross. editoriale, pp. 373(1) (di cui le prime XII in numeri romani); antiporta incisa in rame con ritratti di personaggi della Grecia Antica nell'età del suo massimo splendore. Il testo tratta di storia, religione e filosofia, belle lettere, belle arti, costumi; conclude il libro la volgarizzazione annotata dei XXX Caratteri di Teofrasto. Dorso fessurato, aperture alle cerniere, vecchio nastro adesivo al piatto posteriore; esemplare per ciò leggermente allentato, ma in molto buono all'interno, fresco e in barbe.

220x140 mm, pp. XII, 373; rilegatura coeva in mezza pelle, titolo in oro al dorso, piatti marmorizzati, tracce d'uso ai piatti e lunga fenditura alla cerniera. All'antiporta una tavola incisa con una serie di ritratti di personaggi famosi dell'antica Grecia in medaglia (Aspasia, PEricle, Alcibiade, Fidia, Socrate, Platone, Aristotele, Euripide e altri).
