Bastia, Bastia26 septembre 1814 ; (26 x 36 cm.), Beau passeport imprimé sur vergé avec encadrement typographique et armes du roi. Dans une colonne de gauche on trouve le signalement du porteur A. M. Viale âgé de 20 ans, 1m68, cheveux chatains et front bas, etc. Au verso on trouve les notes, signatures et cachets des autorités des divers lieux gagnés par le porteur entre sept. 1814 et novembre 1815, en particulier à Rome : autorisation de la police italienne, de l’ambassadeur extraordinaire près le St. Siège (signé du secrétaire d’ambassade Artaud), puis Livourne, Veterbe.

Statistique du département du Golo
Paris, imprimerie des sourds-muets, An X [1801], in-8, 24 pp, Broché, Première édition par le préfet et citoyen Antoine Piétry qui dresse un état du Golo, ancien département français, dont le chef-lieu était Bastia. Il prend son nom du fleuve côtier Golo. Créé par un décret du 11 août 1793 lors de la première partition de la Corse, il fut supprimé par un décret du 24 avril 1811 quand le département de Corse fut restauré. Antoine Jean Piétry ou Pietri (1764-1846) est né, baptisé et mort à Sartène (Corse du Sud). Préfet du Golo, 11 ventôse/19 prairial an VIII, il cesse ses fonctions à la réunion du Golo et du Liamone le 19 août 1811. Membre de la junte de Corse en 1815. À travers ces quelques pages, le préfet décrit le climat, les plages, le commerce du vin, les divers cantons et leurs ressources naturelles, les manufactures et le commerce, l'agriculture, les grandes routes et les montagnes, les lacs et les rivières et enfin les eaux minérales. Agréable vision descriptive de ce département alors dévasté par la misère et dont l'auteur décèle le grand potentiel. Cet opuscule fut imprimé à Paris, par L'imprimerie des sourds-muets (active entre 1791 et 1813), imprima le "Journal des savants" en 1791-1792. "Aurait été l'imprimerie particulière de Maximilien de Robespierre et du Comité de Salut public avant le 9-Thermidor (27 juillet 1794). Jean-Furcy Michelet, père de l'historien Jules Michelet, y est employé comme sous-chef jusqu'à cette date." L'inc. risulta rifilata al marg. inf. con parziale perdita della cornice (apparteneva infatti ad unica lastra che rappresentava anche la pianta di Sant'Ermo di Porto Ercole).

Incisione originale in rame (cm. 50,8x45,8 e margini), in ottimo stato di conservazione, testo descrittivo al verso. Esemplare con bellissima colorazione coeva. Dettagliata carta geografica con titolo in alto a sinistra entro elaborato cartiglio sormontato da putti, a destra un secondo elaborato cartiglio con scala miliare, in basso a sinistra cartiglio con la bandiera della Corsica ed a destra lo stemma corso. Carta geografica tratta dal famoso Atlante Veneto pubblicato a Venezia nel 1696. La carta, di derivazione maginiana, è composta da due lastre. Bell'esemplare perfettamente conservato. Vincenzo Maria Coronelli è considerato uno dei più importanti cartografi italiani. A lui si devono moltissime opere geografiche quali l'Atlante Veneto, L'Isolario, Il Corso Universale, Le Singolarità di Venezia, Il libro dei Globi, Il teatro delle città ecc... Divenuto famoso come matematico e cosmografo nel 1681 venne chiamato alla corte di Luigi XIV per la costruzione di due straordinari e raffinatissimi globi, uno terrestre e uno celeste, di 4 metri di diametro. Carita Doggett Corse 1891 � 1978 was a Florida historian and author who served as the Florida director of the Federal Writers� Project. Her most notable books were Dr. Andrew Turnbull and the New Smyrna Colony of Florida and The Key to the Golden Islands. Corse an early suffragette became the director of Florida's chapter of the newly-created Planned Parenthood. In 1978 she was recognized for her work as an historian by the Florida Historical Society and in 1997 was posthumously inducted into the Florida Women's Hall of Fame an honor roll recognizing women who have �made significant contributions to the improvement of life for women and all Florida citizens.� <br/><br/> C. Privately printed 1944. Soft cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7� - 9�" tall. Near Fine saddle-stapled pamphlet. Beige card cover with color photo and gilt lettering and designs. Copyright dates are 1935-38 but this printing appears to be from the summer of 1944. Slight discoloration to the lower right edge of front cover almost imperceptible. Light uniform age toning to all pages commensurate with age. Color photos. 32 pages. Excellent condition. First edition. 9" x 6" in colorful pictorial wrappers. 32 pp. color illustrations prologue epilogue. 8 pages of color photographs most 2 photos per page but a few full-page photos. A nicely produced booklet offering a thorough history of central Florida with its expanse of lakes rivers sink holds and giant springs. In the center of this area rises the greatest of springs Silver Springs a spring that produces nearly 550 million gallons of crystal-clear water daily; a spring that greatly influenced the history of the Indians in the area. Last 4 pages of text offers questions and answers pertaining to the Silver Springs. A very interesting booklet with much information. Very good plus. Privately printed, 1948. unknown
