A Pair of Victorian Die-cut Pop-up Cards
S.l.: s.n. 1890. Very Good. A pair of Victorian die-cut pop-up cards with similar design. One has the message "To my Valentine" and the other "With best Wishes. The messages are on the lower part of the card within an embossed floral border; when the cards are open the messages are not visible. They each are composed of many embossed die-cut blue flowers. When open a pink tissue-paper flower opens in the middle. The Valentine card has a windmill outlined with flowers. The Best Wishes card had two white doves within a mass of blue and pink flowers. There is no publication information. It's possible that these were hand-made or designs for cards to be commercially produced given the plain backing section on each card. In Very Good Condition: the Valentine's card has 2 small archival repairs; minor loss at upper edge of flowers on the Best Wishes card; clean. s.n. unknown
