Late In World War I He Returned Briefly To Nova Scotia To Enlist In The 10Th Canadian Siege Battery Where He Assisted In Recruiting For The Canadian Army. With The Advent Of Sound Macdonald's Acting Career Diminished And Most Of His Roles Between 1927 And 1932 Went Uncredited. He Retired From Acting In 1932 To Concentrate On Script Writing. However By 1937 He Had Recognized The Potential Of Film Production. It Is In His Role Of Producer That Macdonald Is Now Probably Best Remembered. He Produced Well Over 100 Films Between 1937 And 1959. Macdonald Married Actress Doris May In 1921 And They Remained Wed Until His Death In 1978 In Santa Barbara California. There are 14 plates including the portrait collates complete. One of the plates is detached but present. The plates have foxing and have heavy browning about the edges. FIRE ISLAND NEW YORK FLATBUSH BROOKLYN NYC. Good. 1962. On offer is a fascinating and sometimes very sad peek into the mind and soul of a 1960s Hippie Era woman who details her dreams her therapy sessions and her deepest darkest and most personal revealing thoughts on her psycho sexual problems within this original handwritten and typed manuscript archive. A rather beautiful woman included are approximately 12 photos of her and her cat Nina as she refers to herself married name is likely Miller as her husband is Chuck Miller is very much the beatnik bohemian and hippie who reveals and extraordinarily intimate personal history following almost a clichéd life: writing originally we believe from either Flatbush or Brooklyn New York she settled in Fire Island in the 1950s and remained through most of the 1960s. She seems to be of a European background likely French mentioning many friends in England and France her husband is a writer addicted to pornography. In her notes she mentions it was her ability and love of talking 'sexy-dirty' that netted him back when they first met but the origin of her problems begin with childhood and abandonment issues. As per her therapist she records many of her dreams experiments with marijuana as part of her treatment and within the pages of the archive we read of her desires and intimacies with her therapist though we are unsure how much of it was real or imagined. While some of the reading is entertaining funny and insightful more often it is manic often very racy and straight talking but also tinged with sadness melancholy a lack of fulfillment and emotionally disturbing. She has some very major issues as to why she seems to desire 'negro' men her inability to have sex with Jewish men her father was Jewish and her parents who went from 'torturing' her by kissing each other in front of her yet them denying her any affection - her father would tell he she was his 3rd cousin and to stop calling him Daddy. At one point she writes that she watched a little girl sit on her own father's lap and being affectionate which causes Nina to begin a crying jag. Researchers and historians of psychosexual problems would be hard pressed to find a more intimate and revealing personal account. The Seal of the President of the United States serves as a symbol of the executive authority and institutional continuity of the American presidency. Officially adopted in its current form by President Harry S. Truman in 1945 the seal features an American bald eagle clutching an olive branch and arrows signifying the nation's commitment to peace and readiness for defense. The eagle's head faces the olive branch reflecting a preference for diplomacy. Encircled by fifty stars representing the states the seal visually reinforces the president’s role as both a national leader and a representative of the federal union. Richard Milhous Nixon 1913–1994 the thirty-seventh President of the United States remains one of the most complex and consequential figures in modern American political history — a man of formidable intellect and strategic vision whose presidency produced genuine achievements of the first order alongside one of the most catastrophic failures of political judgment the office has ever witnessed. Born in Yorba Linda California and educated at Whittier College and Duke University School of Law Nixon served as a Naval officer in the Pacific rose through the House and Senate on the strength of his aggressive anti-communist credentials and served two terms as Eisenhower's Vice President before losing narrowly to Kennedy in 1960 and engineering one of the most remarkable political comebacks in American history with his election to the presidency in 1968. Bears stamp of the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission in lower corner. Christian A. Herter Jr. 1919-2007 had served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives until his father Christian A. Herter Sr. was elected governor in 1953. Later that year he became an aide to Vice President Richard Nixon travelling to Asia with him. In the 1960s he joined Mobil Oil becoming Vice President in 1967. In 1970 then President Nixon appointed him deputy assistant secretary of state for environmental and population affairs. Includes Volume 13 #1 - July 4 1835 through Volume 14 #2 July 9 1836. Illustrated with a frontispiece and additional full page engravings the Mirror contains essays poetry music and fiction. "The Mirror" was a significant literary and cultural magazine in the early 19th century. It played a vital role in promoting American literature and art and provided valuable insights into the cultural life of New York City during that era. It played a pivotal role in promoting American literature publishing works by writers like Walt Whitman Edgar Allan Poe Nathaniel Hawthorne Washington Irving and James Fenimore Cooper. Binding loose covers have separated and have been haphazardly repaired with seam tape. Covers show chipping and wear. He Took Part In Founding Science Fiction And Fantasy Writers Of Japan Sfwj And Served As Its President From 1978 To 1979. Yano Was Born In Matsuyama Ehime Prefecture And Grew Up In Kobe. After Studying At Chuo University For Three Years He Was Drafted Into The Japanese Army Serving Two Years And Two Months. After The War He Made A Living Collecting Trash On A Us Military Base Where He Became Fascinated With The Colorfully-Illustrated Science Fiction Works Thrown Away By The Soldiers. He Learned To Read English And Eventually Began Translating Science Fiction Completing About 360 Works Of Writers Including Robert A. Heinlein Frederik Pohl And Frank Herbert. He Also Wrote Stories Of His Own Including The Legend Of The Paper Spaceship Which First Appeared In English Translation In 1984 And Has Appeared In Several Collections. Some Of His Stories Have Been Adapted Into Anime. The Dagger Of Kamui Is A Japanese Novel Series By Tetsu Yano Released By Kadokawa Shoten From 1984 To 1985. The Series Was Adapted In 1985 Into An Anime Film Directed By Rintaro And Animated By Madhouse And Toei Animation. The Screenplay Was Adapted By Mori Masaki And Character Designs Were Created By Moribi Murano Who Also Illustrated The Novel Series. Takuo Noda Directed The Animation And The Music Was Composed By Ryudo Uzaki And Eitetsu Hayashi. Kamui Was Released On Vhs And Dvd In North America By Animeigo.
