Johnson engraved title page "illustrated by 86 photo-engraved reproductions of title pages; original quarter parchment over boards gilt-stamped spine and upper cover; boards soiled spine darkened light overall wear; a good sound copy. Printed at the De Vinne Press This copy inscribed "With the sincere regards of Nathl. C. Nash / May 1908" and an ownership label of Dwight Blaney tipped over the inscription and further provenance provided on a slip laid in stating that the book was purchased from the estate of Frank C. Brown in 1932. Also laid in is an envelope addressed to Blaney containing a number of clippings regarding The Compleat Angler and an order form from E. P. Dutton for the John Major edition of the bibliography published in 1927.
