Roswell Field wrote the well known biblio-novel THE BONDAGE OF BALLINGER and was Eugene Field's brother. Roswell Field also wrote BIBLIOMANIA which was published in 1902 in the Bibliophile Society's FIRST YEAR BOOK. This volume's frontispiece is a magnificent etching of The Bookworm by W. H. Bicknell after C. Spitzweg's famous painting of a distinguished gentleman standing atop a step ladder in an impressive private library. The etching is signed in pencil by the artist. Other illustrations are full-page photos and portrait complete with the inserted tissue-guards with printed captions. Contents include: PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS by Nathan Haskell Dole; and THE BOOK COLLECTOR by Adrian H. Joline.
