New York NY G. Schirmer 1902. Hardcover First Edition; later printing probably in the 1950s. Very Good: shows only little discernible wear but there are two tiny gouges in the front panel; the backstrip and the portion of the rear panel near the hinge have been rather heavily sunned and the top edge of the panels has blanched a bit as well the gilt titles at the backstrip are still bold and bright but the blanching to the backstrip has lessened their visibility somewhat. The front panel and its titles are unaffected: bold and clearly legible; the corner tips are a mite 'soft' but no apparent bumping. The binding leans slightly but remains perfectly secure; the text shows very sparse pencil marks and the pages have tanned slightly due to aging; former owner's name at the top of the front free endpaper. A flawed but handsome copy: structurally sound and tightly bound: clean sturdy presentable despite the sunning. NOT a Remainder Book-Club or Ex-Library. Large Format 4to. vi 323 pages. Libretto by J. Barbier and M. Carre. Vocal Score containing the Complete Ballet-Music by Leo Delibes. Translated by H.T. Chorley Revised and Completed by Dr. Th. Baker. Essay on the Story of the Opera by H.E. Krehbiel. Ed. 549. Green cloth over boards with gilt titles at the front panel and backstrip. Decorated Endpapers. First Edition; later printing probably in the 1950s. Hardback: Lacks DJ. G.
