Fifteen Two-Part Inventions & Fifteen Three-Part Inventions by J. S. Bachby Johann Sebastian Bachfor the Piano - PianoforteSchirmer's Library of Musical Classics Vol. 16 c 1894# 11639 Edited revised and fingered by Dr. Wm. MasonPaperback9.1 x 11.9 inches 63 pages
book integrates two separate volumes ----------------------The Inventions and Sinfonias BWV 772–801 also known as the Two- and Three-Part Inventions are a collection of thirty short keyboard compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach 1685–1750: 15 inventions which are two-part contrapuntal pieces and 15 sinfonias which are three-part contrapuntal pieces. They were originally written as musical exercises for his students.
Bach titled the collection: Forthright instruction wherewith lovers of the clavier especially those desirous of learning are shown in a clear way not only 1 to learn to play two voices clearly but also after further progress 2 to deal correctly and well with three obbligato parts moreover at the same time to obtain not only good ideas but also to carry them out well but most of all to achieve a cantabile style of playing and thereby to acquire a strong foretaste of composition.
The two groups of pieces are both arranged in order of ascending key each group covering eight major and seven minor keys.
The inventions were composed in Köthen; the sinfonias on the other hand were probably not finished until the beginning of the Leipzig period. The autograph fair copy is dated 1723.
paperback

Dazzler is the story of the seen and unseen struggles that beset Hart in a life crowded with friends glamour and achievements a life that seemed to be one triumph and delight after another. But it was actually a life tormented in ways we didn't know and thus heroic. It isn't just that Hart rose from humble beginnings to fame and fortune. It's that he rose above his private demons to achieve a kind of happiness that survives him still. He used to say even in the face of failure "Well we aspired". Aspiration was a key to his life and the key to this superb biography. Quantity Available: 1. Category: Biography & Autobiography; Theatre & Plays. ISBN: 0679441549. ISBN/EAN: 9780679441540. Previous owner's name in ink. Richard Bach made a promise fifty years ago to come back through time and teach himself everything he had learned from living. The pledge was forgotten until the day when midair in his paraglider Richard met Dickie Bach age nine who expected the promise to be kept. In this intimate adventure of mind and heart Richard sets out to show Dickie the things that matter and finds his teaching doesn't go as planned. Here is a book spun from delight and disaster and from surprising notions about old questions: Who are we What do we want to do with our lives and why aren't we doing it Must we be the victim of circumstance instead of its master How do we learn to love Throughout Leslie Parrish-Bach shares the journey offering her counterpoint to some of Richard's more challenging beliefs. This is a journal of terror and triumph of forgotten childhood and its keys to grown-up mysteries. Running from Safety entertains exhilarates inspires; a gift to those convinced that angels can meet us in the midst of storms to remind us why we've chosen to live. Quantity Available: 1. Fair. Good solid reading copy with clean unmarked text. The cover is still solidly attached and shows some moderate wear. It also has two small stickers one on the front and the other on the back which indicate it is a school edition. The former owner's name is on the inside cover.
