Journal créé au moment de l'organisation de la Garde Civique dans la ville de Louvain, avec l'ambition d'agir sur les premières élections. "Nous recherchons, quels sont, dans notre cité, les hommes les plus dignes de marcher à la tête de notre garde bourgeoise…". Compte-rendu des événements, commentaires, les élections et les résultats avec la composition exhaustive de la Garde Civique, dispositions législatives, courrier des lecteurs et annonces… Une caricature accompagne chaque livraison. "Publication très curieuse et très recherchée" (cf. Alfred Berrewaerts, 'Recherches sur la presse périodique louvaniste', L. Braeckmans, 1904, p. 44-45). Contient, relié en tête, la partition avec paroles et musique sous couverture illustrée d’une "Marche dédiée à la Garde-Civique Belge" par Emile Colbeau et Auguste Tennstedt, entièrement lithographiée par P. Barella à Louvain, 1848. Cartonnage légèrement frotté avec quelques accrocs. Bon exemplaire.

Ma fare della voce la propria professione è alquanto difficile perché, rispetto ad uno strumento musicale, il proprio organo vocale non si vede. I cantanti lirici vivono spesso con molti dubbi riguardo agli insegnanti di canto - "mi fido del mio insegnante o lo cambio?" - oppure riguardo alla tecnica di canto - "quale scuola e tecnica di canto è quella giusta per me?". Sbagliare un insegnante, una scuola o una tecnica di canto spesso può essere fatale per un cantante lirico che voglia intraprendere una carriera sui palcoscenici dei teatri. Questo testo non vuole affermare una tecnica piuttosto di un'altra, ogni tecnica non è né positiva né negativa, né migliore né peggiore di un'altra. E' il cantante lirico che deve acquisire consapevolezza nel capire qual è la giusta strada da intraprendere. Questo libro può contribuire a conseguire questa consapevolezza. Nel testo vengono presentate tecniche di canto contrapposte e differenti l'una dall'altra, con l'intento di offrire obiettivamente un panorama il più esaustivo possibile. Solo con la giusta informazione il cantante sarà in grado di formarsi un'opinione in merito e soprattutto capire ciò che può essere giusto per lui. brossura Una vita intera trascorsa a rincorrere il successo che, dopo quello di Pagliacci, gli avrebbe consentito di stare con pieno merito tra i grandi immortali della musica italiana. Ruggero Leoncavallo (1857-1919) è vissuto così, tra mille progetti, molti dei quali mai realizzati, e tanti sogni. Il volume ricostruisce tutta la sua vicenda dagli anni della formazione al trionfo dell'opera che lo rese famoso, dagli anni svizzeri a quelli della guerra. Una particolare attenzione è dedicata a Montecatini Terme, tappa fondamentale della sua carriera. Qui il musicista trascorse gli ultimi anni di vita, resi più amari da crescenti difficoltà finanziarie e problemi di salute. Lo ferirono i giudizi impietosi dei colleghi, di quelli in particolare al cui successo egli aveva molto contribuito. Leoncavallo fu tuttavia un protagonista attivo e generoso della vita culturale di Montecatini, partecipando a molte serate benefiche o mondane e coinvolgendo artisti e amici. Da alcuni anni è iniziata una rivalutazione del musicista, che è stato al centro di importanti convegni di studi e ha ricevuto attenzioni da direttori d'orchestra della statura di Karajan, Prêtre e Muti. Il libro è arricchito da un'appendice con schede di tutte le opere e operette, elenchi delle canzoni e delle composizioni strumentali, bibliografia e guida al CD allegato, prodotto nel 2007 dall'Accademia Musicale "R. Leoncavallo" e contenente 12 musiche originali per pianoforte, eseguite da Giuseppe Tavanti.

Brossura in ottimo stato con scritte verdi ma ingiallita dal tempo ed un piccolo sbaffo a matita sul piatto posteriore. Appartiene alla collana 'Strumenti' ristampe anastatiche volume numero 42. La presente ristampa anastatica è tratta dall'edizione pubblicata nel 1966 nella serie 'Incisori' della collana Grafica. Incisioni scete e annotate da Annamaria Petrioli. I caratteri del libro sono molto piccoli e sono presenti numerose tavole in bianco e nero fuori testo suguite da un elenco delle tavole, anch'esso fuori testo. Alcune pagine sono sottolineate a matita ed a penna, di colore blu. In generale le pagine sono mantenute in ottime condizioni, solamente un po' ingiallite dal tempo. Numero pagine 28 USATO

Autograph letter signed 'Lütfullah' sent to Vasfi Riza Zobu.
Very Good Turkish, Ottoman (1500-1928) Original autograph letter signed as 'Lütfullah' sent to Vasfi Riza Zobu. 1 p. In Ottoman script. No letterhead. It starts as 'Aziz agabeyimiz Vasfi bey' [= Our beloved brother]. Dated February 17, 1946. Lütfullah Sururi, one of the first artists who contributed to the current level in the coming opera in Turkey. He is one of the first operetta tenors after Cemal Sahir. They performed many times together with his wife Suzan Lütfullah (the first Turkish and Muslim primadonna). He is one of the founders of the Public Operetta and Süreyya Opera House. He was the director of Istanbul Theaters until his death after his wife's death. He joined the Muhlis's Operette Ensemble (Muhlis Sabahattin Operetta Community) and took on the 'Jeune' roles, he sang tenor songs on the stage for many years. Vasfi Riza Zobu, (1902-1992), was born on December 5, 1902, in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire. He was an actor, known for Tosun Pasha (1939), Karim Beni Aldatirsa (1933) and Milyon Avcilari (1934). He died on November 23, 1992, in Istanbul, Turkey. Extremely rare.
