Première édition collective illustrée de trois titres gravés avec arabesques et une figure, dessinés et gravés par Scotin. Poète, librettiste, polémiste et auteur dramatique, reconnu pour ses travaux littéraires, Pierre Charles Roy était loué pour la "grâce du sentiment et la musique de ses vers". Au cours d’une longue et turbulente carrière littéraire qui le mena plusieurs fois à la Bastille et à Saint-Lazare, il s’affronta à Voltaire et composa plusieurs livrets d’opéra célèbres dont "Callirhoë" et le ballet "Les Éléments". (Cohen, 914. 'Dictionnaire des lettres françaises', p.117). Au bas de la p. xxxii des ‘Discours’ figure ce qui semble être la signature autographe de l’auteur. Coiffe supérieure usée, mors fendillés, qqs taches éparses. Très bon état intérieur, exemplaire solide.

Luigi Dallapiccola e le Arti figurative è il primo e principale dei "Progetti di Musica e Arti figurative", settore di ricerca interdisciplinare del Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz - Max-Planck-Institut istituito da Max Seidel nel 2002 e da allora guidato da Mario Rurfini. L'imponente lavoro di indagine corona un percorso di ricerche su Dallapiccola, anticipato dal Catalogo Ragionato che lo stesso autore pubblicò nel 2002, fornendo agli studiosi uno strumento di conoscenza e di approfondimento sino a quel momento impensato. Il compimento della lunga ricerca rappresenta un vero evento editoriale, certamente il più importante dedicato al compositore istriano-fiorentino nella pur imponente produzione musicologica degli ultimi cinquant'anni. La prima parte, "Luigi Dallapiccola. L'uomo", si apre con il capitolo "Musica di luce", che evidenzia il mondo interdisciplinare del primo Novecento, specie quello del rapporto con le arti figurative. Un capitolo che interseca le vicende storiche del secolo breve e quelle personali del compositore, ridisegnando il suo percorso musicale come un vero magistero teologico nel quale la musica si fa motore propulsivo della ricerca suprema che caratterizza l'intera vita dallapiccoliana. Prosegue con la Genealogia dei quattro ceppi famigliari di Luigi e Laura Dallapiccola che, risalendo fino al Settecento, porta alla luce la gens dallapiccoliana: uno scandaglio del tutto nuovo. Segue una sistematica ricognizione dei Ritratti di Dallapiccola, che indaga l'idea stessa del volto attraverso ottanta opere figurative dedicate al compositore. Da Pisino a Firenze esamina infine cronologicamente i fatti di una intensa vicenda umana e artistica, toccando aspetti ancora sconosciuti come il rapporto di Dallapiccola con Henri Matisse. La prima parte si chiude con un capitolo nel quale viene per la prima volta ricostruita la figura di Laura, fondamentale tassello della vita del compositore. La seconda parte, Luigi Dallapiccola. Il teatro musicale, scandaglia da un'ottica figurativa gli allestimenti delle sei opere per la scena. Dalla genesi musicale ai pittori da cavalletto, dalla scheda tecnica al catalogo degli spettacoli, vengono ripercorse le messe in scena prodotte nei vari teatri dal 1940 al 2004, con un inedito censimento di bozzetti scenografici e figurini: vera storia di un'arte che si rivela in tutta la sua novità. La terza parte in DVD, "Luigi Dallapiccola e il cinema", ripercorre le tappe della vicinanza del compositore alla "decima musa", con un censimento cinematografico e radiofonico.

L?autore maggiormente rappresentato, Padre Davide da Bergamo, al secolo Felice Moretti (1791-1863), fu organista nella basilica dal 1818 alla morte e il principale organista italiano del Risorgimento. Il Fondo contiene diverse centinaia di manoscritti e stampe di musica vocale sacra, melodrammi, pezzi d?organo e metodi; molti gli autori presenti, di rilevanza sia locale che nazionale. The music collection of the friary of the Frati Minori della Basilica di S. Maria di Campagna in Piacenza originated in the 19th century. Majority of the works are by Father Davide da Bergamo, born Felice Moretti (1791-1863), who was the Basilica?s organist from 1818 until his death and was considered the greatest Italian organist of the Risorgimento. The collection comprises several hundred manuscripts and sacred vocal music prints, melodramas, organ pieces and methods and treatise by both locally and nationally known composers. 938 gr. xxvi-502 p.
