Per ciascuna procedura la guida fornisce le indicazioni operative, analizza gli iter procedurali, i riferimenti normativi ed effettua una disamina sui contenuti e sulle modalità di redazione degli Studi ambientali richiesti dalla normativa. Sono riportati esempi sui metodi e modelli di stima degli impatti di un piano, programma o progetto sull'ambiente antropico e naturale.
