Stupefacenti e proibite. La via delle piante maestre
br. Da sempre, gli esseri umani si sono curati con le piante. In particolare con le piante "maestre" o "di conoscenza", quali il tabacco, la coca, l'oppio, oggi etichettate in Occidente come droghe. Le prime ricerche sulle proprietà terapeutiche di queste piante risalgono agli anni '60 e '70; nel mentre, la cultura hippie si affacciava a queste scoperte per aprire "le porte della percezione". Da allora, però, la ricerca accademica ha subìto un brusco arresto: la guerra alle sostanze psicotrope ha frenato l'impiego terapeutico in ambito medico e psicologico della cannabis e di altre sostanze di derivazione vegetale come la psilocibina e l'ibogaina. Ma prima di demonizzare è bene conoscere: specialmente quando queste piante rappresentano anche dei ponti culturali con tradizioni che, prima della nostra, hanno saputo onorarne le potenzialità.
