‎Ce Livre n'est pas malheureusement en trés bon état mais a un grand intérêt pour son origine et pour les trés nombreuses remarques manuscrites à l'encre brune faites en marge..........Traduction en français du Tyrocinium chymicum de Jean Beguin (1550-1620), chimiste, médecin de Henri IV. Considéré comme le premier traité de chimie formulé avec clarté, contrairement aux ouvrages d'alchimistes qui l'ont précédé. Apothicaire, pharmacien, chimiste et aumônier du roi Louis XIII, Jean Béguin est né en Lorraine vers 1550 et s'installa à Paris après avoir obtenu une maîtrise en pharmacie et se lia avec des médecins célèbres. En 1604, il obtint d'Henri IV l'autorisation d'ouvrir la première école de chimie en France. Dans le but d'aider ses élèves, il publia, en 1610, sous le titre Tyrocinium Chymicum, un manuel où la chimie est présentée sous l'angle expérimental, dégagée des théories mystiques qui encombraient les traités de l'époque. On lui doit entre autres la synthèse de l'acétone, opération qu'il décrit dans son livre.L'ouvrage, très populaire en son temps, connut de multiples éditions au cours du XVIIe siècle.
