Rarissima edizione originale sebbene il Grossi "Uomini Illustri di Urbino" pp.78-82 affermi che l' opera fu stampata nel 1624, cioè che non è verosimile anche perchè in Opac Sbn non risultano edizioni anteriori alla nostra nelle biblioteche italiane. Opera importante di divulgazione avversa all' astrologia giudiziaria con cenni al telescopio e allo zodiaco. Vedi la lunga nota in Cinti "Biblioteca Galileiana" veramente rara, manca al Poggendorff, lalande e Houzeau-Lancaster. Stukeley, Lockyer, Atkinson, Watkins, Thom: questi nomi dicono forse poco o nulla, ma appartengono ad alcuni tra gli studiosi che più hanno contribuito, dal '700 fino a oggi, a svelare il mistero di Stonehenge e degli altri siti megalitici delle isole britanniche. Scienziati romantici che hanno creduto alla possibilità di un'astronomia antica, rovesciando, attraverso prove raccolte con molta difficoltà, il facile paradigma della "splendida barbarie" in cui, secondo la scienza ortodossa, vivevano le antiche popolazioni del Nord Europa. Grazie a loro, i misteriosi cromlech si sono rivelati rispecchiamenti in terra del cielo, costruiti secondo precise corrispondenze astronomiche e calendariali che per precisione non hanno nulla da invidiare ai calcoli moderni. Non solo luoghi di culto, dunque, ma strumenti del sapere, sacri orologi delle comunità che vivevano attorno a essi e prodigiose testimonianze del genio umano. Gli stessi allineamenti ricorrono poi nei templi egizi, nelle piramidi e infine anche nella gigantesca rete di linee, centri e disegni che innervano le pianure del Sudamerica precolombiano. In questo volume Micheli schiude per noi la suggestiva prospettiva di coloro che seppero guardare al passato senza infondati pregiudizi (mentre l'archeologia cadeva sotto il dominio della tecnologia) e che per primi decifrarono il libro di pietra a cui i nostri progenitori avevano affidato la loro sublime sapienza.

APROINO restò amico e collaboratore e in assidua corrispondenza con lui, come si vede nei commenti alle lettere qui pubblicatri, specie su argomenti di astronomia (tra cui la Sfera Copernicana ecc.) con Galileo Galilei e altri astronomi; ma vi si parla anche del fiume SILE e di TREVISO. Dal 1613 al 1636 fu per sua disavventura implicato, in quanto Canonico, nelle diatribe dei Canonici contro il Vescovo di Treviso poi Cardinale Francesco Giustiniani nella difesa delle loro prerogative. In fine: Appendice di 10 ampi DOCUMENTI dal 1628 al 1637, alcuni concernenti PREGANZIOL.
