ill., br. Cos'è la realtà? Di cosa è fatto ciò che ci circonda? È tutto, davvero, come sembra? Quando Einstein salì sul palcoscenico della fisica movimentò l'intera trama del cosmo, riducendo lo spazio e il tempo a mere prospettive dell'osservatore, cornici di uno scenario labile e ingannevole. La scienza quantistica che ne seguì si spinse addirittura oltre, svelando nelle dimensioni invisibili dell'infinitamente piccolo un regno tanto surreale quanto ambiguo, dove non esiste nulla di preconfezionato ma solo un profluvio di possibilità da trasformare nei tangibili mattoni del nostro "macromondo" attraverso la misurazione, cioè una manifestazione di coscienza. E così, l'uomo si è ritrovato al centro dell'universo o, almeno, del proprio, cucito sulle percezioni dei propri sensi, codificate e assemblate diligentemente dal cervello. Dunque, non solo non sappiamo cosa ci sia là fuori ma, addirittura, se esista, un là fuori, se non nella forma di un flusso continuo d'informazione che s'incarna in quel caleidoscopio di forme e immagini che abbiamo imparato a riconoscere e censire. Ma tali stimoli, nel suscitare nell'organismo miriadi di stati emotivi, generano anche valanghe di molecole, padrone del suo stato di salute o malattia. Eccola, dunque, la filiera che ci conduce al cosmo: il sottile intreccio tra scienza e coscienza, il canale d'accesso per una nuova e rivoluzionaria visione del nostro ruolo nel creato.
