Seconda edizione, la prima era apparsa nel 1550, dell'opera dell'illustre matematico (nato nel 1509), fisico, filosofo e musicista. Taisnier prese parte alla spedizione di Carlo V a Tunisi, insegnò matematica a Palermo, Roma e Ferrara e negli ultimi anni di vita fu maestro di musica presso l'arcivescovato di Colonia.
