‎First printing of Rabin's landmark paper in which he introduced his infinite tree automaton" a state machine that deals with infinite tree structure. It can be viewed as an extension from a finite tree automaton, which accepts only finite tree structures. Here he proved that the second-order theory of n successors is decidable A key component of the proof implicitly showed determinacy of parity games, which lie in the third level of the Borel hierarchy.It was used by Rabin for proving decidability of monadic second order logic. It has been further observed that tree automaton and logical theories are closely connected and it allows decision problems in logic to be reduced into decision problems for automaton.‎

The present paper - one of the most important results within theoretical computer science - deals with the existence of non computable functions. ""The busy beaver game, originally posed by Rado in 1962, is a problem in which the challenge is to construct a Touring machine on a given number of states and symbols that prints a maximal number of ones, or alternatively executes a maximal number left/right shifts, and subsequently halts. Although the problem is simple to state and its solutions are finite and well-defined, determination of actual values are readily shown to be non-computable."" ‎The important first printing of Riccati's main work, his influential ""Animadversiones in aequationes differentiales secundi gradus"", in which the famous Riccati-equation is presented + Bernouilli's famous note on it.""In his ""Animadversiones in aequationes differentiales secundi gradus,"" published in Acta Eruditorum in 1724, Riccati suggested the study of cases of integrability [...] which is now known by his name. In response to this suggestion Nikolaus II Bernoulli wrote an important treatise on the equation and Daniel Bernoulli presented, in his Exercitationes quaedam mathematicae, the conditions under which it may be integrated by the method of separation of the variables. Euler also integrated it."" (DSB, XI).""In the supplement volume to Acta Eruditorum, Riccati's paper is immediately followed by Daniel Bernoulli' Notata (St. 5.). As the latter admitted in the Exercitationes, he had Riccati's paper in his hands for two days before it was sent to Leipzig. ‎First edition of this foundational work in mathematics. In this book Robinson gave the first rigorous formulation of Analysis using infinitesimals. Both Leibniz and Newton had used the notion of infinitesimals when they developed the Differentail and Integral Calculus in the 17th century. As Leibniz argued the theory of infinitesimals implies the introduction of ideal numbers which might be infinitely small or large compared to the real numbers. However, neither he nor his disciples and succesors were able to give a rational development leading up to a system of this sort. As a result, the theory of infinitesimals gradually fell into disrepute and was replaced by eventually by the classical theory of limits. Robinson was the first to show that Leibniz's ideas in fact can be fully vindicated and that they lead to a fruitful approach to classical Analysis. He coined his model ""Non-Standard Anlysis"".‎
