‎Annonce des thèses de mathématiques qui seront démontrées au Collège Royal de Limoges par Messieurs : Jean-Baptiste François BOURIAUD (Limoges), Jean Joseph CANTILLON DE LA COUTURE (Limoges), Pierre André d'AUBIN (château de Poinsat), et Etienne Martial MARSICAT (Limoges). Les problèmes de mathématiques (algèbre, arithmétique, analyse, trigonométrie, calculs des surfaces et des solides, sont annoncés et les candidats devront démontrer les théorèmes et résoudre les problèmes. Le marquis Des Roys était issu d'une famille originaire du Velay, installée dans le Puy-de-Dôme à Echandelys ; après avoir été page de Louis XIV et de Louis XV il entreprend une carrière militaire. En 1789 il est nommé Sénéchal du Limousin. Il est élu député de la noblesse du limousin aux états généraux de 1789. Emprisonné pendant la Terreur il échappe à la guillotine à la chute de Robespierre. Après un second mariage, avec Amable de Chauvigny de Blot, il s'installe en Bourbonnais où il acquière le château d'Avrilly (1803) et devient maire de Moulins entre 1805 et 1816. Il avait également acquis dans cette ville l'Hôtel Héron. Le château d'Avrilly sera revendu après la mort de son fils, en 1873. Une partie de cette bibliothèque avait été dispersée à la suite de cette vente.‎
