‎RARE report on the value of secular real estate in Israel owned by former residents of German nationality or extraction by Karl Brandt (1899-1975), Professor Emeritus and former Director of the Food Research Institute at Stanford University. After being appointed Professor of Agriculture in the University of Berlin in 1929 and Director of the Institute for Agricultural Market Research, Brandt left Nazi Germany in 1933, he took up residence in the United States as Professor of Agricultural Economics at the New School for Social Research in New York and from 1938 Professor of Agricultural Economics at Stanford University. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Heidelberg and the Justus von Liebig Prize by the University of Kiel, and was the only American member of the French Academy of Agriculture and one of the few persons of German birth ever to receive the Order of Merit, France's highest award for civil service. ‎Illustré de nombreuses armoiries en bois gravés in-texte, de 15 cartes géographiques de diverses régions européennes figurant les villes et le réseau fluvial de chaque territoire ainsi que de 16 tableaux gravés. Charmant ouvrage publié pour la première fois en 1650. Il se compose de 16 pages de calendriers gravés et de leurs explications, de listes des papes et des dirigeants séculiers illustrées de leurs armes, et d'un petit atlas de l'Europe avec les cartes de plusieurs régions germaniques mais aussi celles représentant la France, la Belgique et la Grande-Bretagne... L'auteur, Gabriel Bucelin (1599-1681), prêtre, prieur du monastère de Feldkirch et historien, a écrit de nombreux traités d'histoire ecclésiastique et profane, de généalogie et d'hagiographie, mais seules quelques unes de ses oeuvres ont été publiées dont celles contenues dans notre exemplaire. Légères rousseurs, vélin de reliure frotté et sali. Aux armes de Louis-Henri de Loménie de Brienne frappées sur les deux plats, avec l'étiquette de sa bibliothèque au contreplat supérieur. Louis-Henri de Loménie, comte de Brienne, est fait secrétaire d'État en 1651 en survivance, titulaire en 1663. Marié en 1656 à Henriette Bouthillier de Chavigny, il se fait oratorien après la mort de cette dernière, survenue en 1664. Ex-libris manuscrit de Georges Cros 1847, ceux armoriés de A. L. McLaughlin et de la bibliothèque "Augustiniana Lugdunensis" et enfin celui moderne de Jean François Chaponnière.‎
