(source : Wikipedia) ex-libary, the binding is lightly used with minor wear (missing of clothes on the spine-end, and on the extremities of the spine, corners slightly bumped, inside is clean but with few library marks and stamps, the text remains clean and unmarked, it's still a good reading copy of the 1st English edition of this book introducing Nernst famous theroem on Thermodynamics‎

(source : Wikipedia) bel exemplaire, couverture à peine jaunie, infime trace de pliure au coin inférieur gauche du plat inférieur, la couverture est sinon impeccable, intérieur frais et propre, papier à peine jauni, exemplaire non coupé, cela reste un bel ouvrage, bien complet des 12 planches hors-texte d'un des plus importants traité d'optique (théorie corpusculaire de la lumière), même si les principaux travaux de Newton portent sur la gravitation, il s'agit d'un reprint de qualité, introduit par le mathématicien Maurice Solovine, 1875-1958, ami et principal traducteur en français d'Albert Einstein - Near fine copy of the 1995's reprint of the 1722's French Edition of Opticks, published by Montalant and translated by Coste, wrappers are fine, minor folding track on the corner of the bottom part, inside is fine, no markings, unopened copy, this 1955 reprint was introduced by Maurice Solovine, Mathematician and closed friend from Albert Einstein who actually translated most of his works in French. Complete of the 12 plates reproduced here as issue in nice folding plates, a very nice copy.‎

Tandberg Lund 1920". Quarto, XVIIIth century full vellum binding (but the spine has been strengthened with modern vellum), red edges, pp. [28], 484, [8]. First Amsterdam edition (a second Dutch edition was published in 1723), written on the second absolute edition of 1713 (the first to contain the "Scholium Generale" written in response to the objections of Berkeley and Leibniz), but revised and corrected entirely in Amsterdam. This is the first edition printed outside the United Kingdom of one of the milestones of human thought. This copy is from the collection of physicist John Gudbrand Tandberg (1896-1968), with his signature: "J. Tandberg Lund 1920".‎
