Nell'angolo inferiore esterno del frontespizio, timbro a secco, tondo, "PRESENTATION COPY", timbro che, nella parte superiore e in quella inferiore della sua circonferenza, ha inciso in tal modo la carta da tagliarla. Piccola mancanza, di 2 x 1,2 cm circa, nel bordo esterno del foglio con le pagine 13-14, lontano dal testo. Segno di piegatura nell'angolo superiore esterno del foglio con le pagine 19-20 e in quello inferiore esterno del foglio con le pagine 47-48. Nel margine esterno del foglio con le pagine 261-262 e in quello inferiore dei fogli con le pagine 305-306 e 359-360, strappo, senza perdite, ben rimarginato con carta giapponese. Manca l'ultimo foglio, ospitante due pagine, non numerate, pubblicitarie. Piccoli, lievi segni d'umido all'occhietto e ad alcune pagine, per il resto, esemplare ben conservato, parzialmente intonso. Fondamentale opera del Belgrado che insieme al Grandi, Manfredi e Riccati, nella prima metà del secolo, aveva portato in Italia i metodi infinitesimali di Newton e di Leibniz, ridestando l'interesse per la geometria e per l'analisi. Per applicare l'analisi alla fisica si richiedono tre condizioni: definire le quantità delle masse, dei volumi e delle densità.
