La première partie étudie le rôle du climat et du sol sur les cultures, les pp. 119 à 188 contiennent le mémoire soumis à la Société Royale des Sciences et qui remporta l’accessit au prix en répondant à la question “Quelle est l’influence des Météores sur la Végétation, & quelles conséquences pratiques peut-on tirer, relativement à cet objet, des différentes observations météorologiques faites jusqu’ici ?”.

Questo libro cerca di rimettere il Sole al posto che gli compete, cioè al primo posto, per quanto attiene la sua influenza sulla vita della Terra e per la sua azione essenziale, con la Luna, sul tempo meteorologico e sul clima.
