‎The role of Human Rights Principle in EU Relation with Third Countries Case Study: Iran‎

‎<p>European Union is known as an international actor claiming a normative human rights dimension in its foreign policy and the literature on EU external policies is increasingly leaning towards normative power Europe approach. Considering some norms such as human rights principle in planning foreign policy is in many cases in conflict with other norms or interests of the EU. This study scrutinizes EU's human rights legislation and policies in its relation with third countries and explores the efficiency of these policies as well as the criticisms on them. Additionally the inclusivity of normative power Europe approach in explaining the Union's external policies is tested. The groups of countries in relation with which the role of human rights principles has been studied are candidate countries EU's neighbors ACP countries EU's strategic partners and other third countries. Iran was chosen as a case study where some of the main external relations concerns of the EU naming the norms of human rights and non-proliferation and the interest of security nuclear issue coincide. The contrasting effects of the policies inspired by these concerns on the human rights situation in Iran are demonstrated and EU's power based on the outcome of these policies is categorized. This is done through studying the human rights related measures taken by the EU in its relation with Iran including the Critical Dialogue and the Sakharov Prize 2012 awarded to two Iranian dissidents along with the sanctions both on nuclear issue and human rights violators in Iran. In addition it is concluded that these policies and their effects would confirm that to judge EU's position in international relations it should be viewed in light of the dynamics between its normative power and its strategic interests. </p> Akdeniz University - The University of Hamburg paperback‎

Uscito per la prima volta in Francia nel 1931 grazie alla mediazione di Daniel Halévy (e in Italia solo nel 1948), immediatamente commentato da Trockij, bruciato dai nazisti sulla piazza di Lipsia e costato al suo autore l'arresto e il confino a Lipari per "manifestazioni di antifascismo compiute all'estero", "Tecnica del colpo di Stato", spieiata dissezione delle varie tipologie di golpe e delle loro costanti, viene subito avversato da tutti. Sta di fatto che ancor oggi lo si legge d'un fiato: non solo per l'"attualità" della sua analisi di ingegneria politica, ma soprattutto per lo stile, insieme icastico e concitato, geometrico e visionario, dove Malaparte sembra assumere le cadenze di un allievo di Tacito. Stile che risalta in tutte le sequenze su trionfi e fallimenti del golpismo classico, a partire dalla violenta "campagna di stampa" con cui Cicerone smaschera la congiura di Catilina, ma che tocca l'acme nelle ricostruzioni dei colpi di Stato dei primi decenni del secolo scorso, come nelle pagine sulla imminente rivoluzione a Pietrogrado, con le "dense nuvole nere sulle officine di Putilow" cui si contrappone la nebbia rossastra del sobborgo di Wiborg dove si nasconde Lenin. E nella parte finale spiccano, ritratti con rara vividezza, i volti e le psicologie degli autocrati a capo dei vari totalitarismi: Stalin, Mussolini e Hitler.‎

Le sue pagine, che rendono conto delle innovazioni rivoluzionarie apportate da Malevic, all'insegna di un'arte figurativa imperniata sulle forme non-oggettive, costituiscono anche il nucleo di un sistema di pensiero universale che, in qualche modo, sintetizza le suggestioni proprie di tutta un'epoca fitta di cruciali sconvolgimenti, in Russia e fuori di Russia. I testi sono raggruppati in tre sezioni che segnano i tre momenti nodali della parabola umana e creativa di Malevic: l'invenzione del suo sistema pittorico, il suprematismo, e la sua evoluzione tra il 1915 e il 1923; l'integrazione del pensiero suprematista nella vita (l'azione socio-politica della nuova arte, cara a tutto il modernismo russo, con il suo anelito sintetico); la sublimazione dell'idea suprematista in sistema filosofico, quando Malevic, per l'appunto, fece sì che la sua pittura cedesse il passo alla speculazione e alla formulazione teorica sulla pagina scritta, unico mezzo per raggiungere un'astrazione completa e totale.
