Già Direttore della rivista «Problemi di Psichiatria e di Rinnovamento Psichiatrico», è stato autore di monografie quali Le Reali Case de´ Matti nel Regno di Napoli, 1986 e Medicina a Napoli nella prima metà dell´Ottocento, 1990; nonché di Neurologia e Psichiatria a Napoli nella seconda Metà dell´Ottocento, 1996 e di Vicende medico-sanitarie a Napoli e in Campania nel Novecento, in corso di pubblicazione nell´opera Napoli e la Campania nel Novecento – Diario di un secolo, diretta da Alda Croce e Fulvio Tessitore.
