Tra i piu' importanti, vanno citati i capitoli sul vulcanismo italico marino, sulla meccanica della vita e sulla origine prima dei corpi viventi. Il Gorini, famoso soprattutto per i suoi studi sulla mummificazione, la conservazione e il dissolvimento della materia organica, lascio' la sua raccolta al museo di Lodi a lui intitolato nell'Ospedale Vecchio.

Il primo volume in bella brossura editoriale azzurra ornata con minime mende risarcite agli angoli del piatto posteriore. Il secondo volume in brossura editoriale rosa ornata professionalmente risarcita al dorso, interno fresco ed in barbe. Entrambi con gli interni freschi nelle loro barbe. 1) Montagne: Plutonio considerato come agente dei fenomeni geologici plutonici (a superficie libera, a superficie coperta) – Plutonio considerato come agente di fenomeni fisiologici (plutonismo dei liquidi organici. Cenni di fisiologia plutonica). 2) Questioni Geologiche (e Questioni Fisiologiche, con aggiunta un'Appendice destinata a mettere in rilievo i vantaggi arrecati alla scienza dalla scoperta del Plutonismo). Da notare i capitoli sul vulcanismo italico terrestre e marino (124 pagine), sulla meccanica della vita e sulla origine prima dei corpi viventi. Il Gorini, patriota, matematico e scienziato, inventò un procedimento segreto per la conservazione delle sostanze organiche (analogo alla "pietrificazione" di Girolamo Segato), non riuscì con Mazzini, ma mummificò G. Rovani. Nel 1876 perfezionò il forno detto Crematorio lodigiano o goriniano, realizzato nel 1877 a Lodi, nel cimitero della frazione Riolo, e poi a Milano e Londra. Lasciò la sua raccolta al museo di Lodi a lui intitolato nell'Ospedale Vecchio. Morì povero.

Tre parti in un volume di cm. 20, pp. (38) 16, 28 compreso ritratto dell'autore ed antiporta allegorica + 109 tavole fuori testo; pp. 64 compresa antiporta allegorica + 173 tavole fuori testo; pp. 32. Solida legatura coeva in piena pelle, dorso a nervi con titoli e ricchi fregi in oro. Esemplare fresco, pulito ed in ottimo stato di conservazione. Non vi è però traccia del ritratto di Gronovius, spesso menzionato in molte delle copie censite. Volume che descrive ed elenca la collezione di gemme ed anelli antichi dell'erudito Gorlaeus (1549-1609). Originariamente impresso nel 1600, il catalogo di questa preziosa raccolta è particolarmente apprezzabile in quest'edizione per le note del Gronovio il quale curò la presente stampa e la successiva del 1707. L'appendice finale contiene un poema sulle gemme di Marbod. Cfr. Graesse III, 120 e Hoefer: "Les éditions que Gronovius donna de cet ouvrage en 1695 et 1707... sont recherchees, à cause des notes ajoutees par ce savant". Non comune, soprattutto in ottimo stato di conservazione come nel presente esemplare.
