This copy is in a contemporary full leather binding with raised bands gilt decoration and title label to spine; and gilt decoration to board edges. The book has been very skillfully rebacked at some point retaining the original spine and boards so the binding is sound. There is some scuffing and wear particularly to the side edge of the boards. Endpapers marbled. Contents: title part I; preface introduction technical terms contents for part I and II pp xlii; text pp 43-327; vignette; title part II preface introduction pp xviii; text pp 19-360 finis. The second part has the Green Sandpiper at p 100 and is also slightly misbound: 241-251.266-246.250-267. Contents in very good clean condition with the usual light toning and odd mark.
