Pane al veleno. Il contraddittorio legame tra Taranto e Ilva: se ora l'azienda ha il raffreddore, la città ha già da tempo la polmonite

A distanza di cinquantanni o poco più, c'è ancora da chiedersi se la realizzazione a Taranto del più grande stabilimento siderurgico d'Europa sia stata una benedizione dal cielo o - invece - una grande jattura. Con il senno di poi, sono adesso in molti a sostenere che sia stata una grande disgrazia. Una jattura, appunto. C'è stato sì benessere economico, ma quanti danni alla salute? Tanti, troppi, a leggere i vari rapporti specialistici e a giudicare dalle denunce delle associazioni mediche ed ambientalistiche. In tutto ciò, si è collocata l'azione della Magistratura che - a dire il vero - pur avendo avuto il pieno o quasi totale appoggio dei cittadini, non ha però trovato adeguata sponda nel Governo. Intanto, l'azione giudiziaria va avanti e quando - e come si concluderà - è ancora tutto da riscontrare. E Taranto e la sua provincia sprofondano sempre più agli ultimi posti della classifica delle città e dei territori "maglia nera" per qualità della vita.
