‎7 lettres datées de Lyon, 8 juin, 16 juin, 14 juillet, 15 juillet, 16 juillet, 16 juillet, 24 juillet 1815, dont cinq en in-folio bi-feuillet pour quatre d'entre elles, une in-4 et un billet 16 x 21,5. Deux lettres comportent au dos le destinataire " à Monsieur le lieutenant général Charbonnel, à la Grange Blanche", avec traces de cachet déchirées. Jean-Louis-Olivier Baron Mossel (né à Lagrasse dans l'Aude en 1770), lieutenant à la 4ème compagnie de Canonniers à Cheval en 1792, sera de toutes les batailles de la Révolution, du Consulat et de l'Empire. Il est blessé à de multiples reprises. Il est nommé chevalier de la Légion d'honneur en 1803, général de brigade en 1805, baron de l'Empire en 1809, il est à Wagram, mais refuse de partir en Espagne sous Junot. Il est mis en non activité pour ce fait et à la retraite en 1811. Il reprend du service seulement aux Cents-Jours comme commandant l'artillerie du corps d'observation de Lyon après le 20 avril 1815. En retraite à la seconde restauration. Il meurt en 1848. Ses lettres laissent transparaître une certaine acrimonie et ne cessent de dénoncer le manque de moyens et le désordre de la situation lyonnaise. "je suis bien aise d'être des vôtres" le 8 juin, mais le 16 juin "...vous avez mal jugé ma manière de voir, je vous répète que je serai bien aise d'être sous vos ordres, je n'en serai pas blessé puisque vous êtes d'un grade supérieur, mais encore faut-il que le ministre ou le Maréchal m'en avertisse...c'est directement le général Mouton-Duvernet qui s'y est opposé...quoique Gascon à ce qu'on dit je ne mens pas...".
