Reliure de l'époque plein vélin à rabats, dos lisse orné du titre, et de la date en queue, joliment calligraphiés à l'encre. Bon état, bel exemplaire bien conservé, imprimé sur beau papier vergé. Double-page gravée de François CHAUVEAU en frontispice ; la première avec un portrait de l'auteur dans un médaillon ovale au centre d'un décor romain qui met en scène deux aigles s'affrontant ; la seconde, une scène militaire avec le titre dans un médaillon ovale. Dix planches gravées figurent en face de chaque chapitre et illustrent l'ouvrage (parmi les plus remarquables : scènes de bataille, scène de navigation, Caton et les serpents, vue du phare d'Alexandrie.
