All of these wild animals joined his family in the forests of Cental Sweden where they were all raised as part of his family the lion cub Simba being a particular friend of his small daughter. "Since 1954 Berggren has been making trips to Africa and with each year the plight of African wild life has grown more desperate. He has found particularly in the emergent African countries an almost cynical indiffernce to the wild animals they have inherited and to any attempts to preserve the many species.
