Covers worn with short edge tears along spine and creases to back cover back cover mostly detached interior pages starting to come loose some faint soiling; a well-read copy but overall good condition. Title on cover is Our Four-footed Friends. The first and last page on the inside of the covers are the abc with animals: "a stands for antelope graceful and fleet; b stands for bear fond of food that is sweet; etc to z for zebra." Moscow. 1949. Collection of 49 of 50 color lithograph prints in color pictorial stiff card folder 14 1/2 x 11 3/4 inches. The prints are in very good condition with the following exceptions: one print the lion has been trimmed 1 inch on the bottom not affecting the image; the polar bear has a few edge tears and edge creases the first plate has a crease at lower right corner. The portfolio is very worn with tears and creases and only in fair condition. Plate number 47 appears to be the one that is missing I think that plate number 21 is the lion which is present but without the plate number. A beautiful collection of images of animals probably published for children. The 49 sheets include images of a polar bear whale stork owl pink pelican and frogs. There is no text on the images but the text on the folder is in Russian. . unknown
