Edition originale française de cet important traité de Spallanzani (1729-1799), publié en Italie en 1765, dans lequel le biologiste étudie et réfute la théorie de la génération spontanée, prouvant par ses expériences que les micro-organismes proviennent de l'air et peuvent être tués par une ébullition prolongée. Complet des deux feuillets d'errata. Ex-libris manuscrit sur la page de titre. Coiffe supérieure émoussée, sinon bel exemplaire en reliure d'époque.
