Philadelphia: Published by John Grigg No. 9 N. Fourth St. 1831. Hardcover. Poor. 12mo. 189. The binding measures 7 3/8 inches tall by 4 1/4 inches wide. Hardcover bound in full leather. The binding is quite worn and loose. The leather on the spine is chipped and degraded and the text block is nearly broken in two so this is a binding copy. Early owner's signature of "Jane Puryear" on the front flyleaf. The contents show some foxing and some of the signatures in the center are slightly sprung. Collates complete with all of the hand-colored plates some which are often missing in other copies. We believe that Jane Puryear was from Yadkin County formerly Surry County North Carolina and was related to Confederate General Thomas L. Clingman. <br/> <br/> Published by John Grigg No. 9, N.
