Gaspard Thémistocle Lestiboudois (1797 - 1876) fut un médecin, un botaniste et homme politique français. Fils du botaniste François-Joseph Lestiboudois et petit-fils de Jean-Baptiste Lestiboudois (1715 -1804), professeur de botanique à la faculté des sciences de Lille. Il obtient son titre de docteur en médecine en 1818 à Paris. Il se rend en Algérie pour y étudier l’épidémie de peste de 183. Il présente à la Faculté des sciences de Paris une thèse de botanique en 1848 sur la phyllotaxie anatomique (ordre dans lequel sont implantés les feuilles ou les rameaux sur la tige d’une plante, ou, par extension, la disposition des éléments d’un fruit, d’une fleur, d’un bourgeon ou d’un capitule). La présente plaquette traite de la famille des pavots, coquelicot.
