With the bookplate of the alpine nurserman Will Ingwersen. RARE. Mackay 1775 - 1862 was a Scottish botanist who lived in Ireland. He discovered several species of plants new to the British Isles and contributed largely to Sir J. E. Smith's English Botany 1790-1814. His herbarium is preserved at Trinity College Dublin. The flora is a thorough one and is particualrly respected for its second volume on the mosses and algae which was written by Harvey & Taylor. First Edition. Half Leather. Good.
