This work on the ocean was written by Louis Figuier. Figuier was a French scientist and writer with this work being translated from the original French. The work provides a description of the ocean marine animals and the way humans work and live off the ocean including an overview of the use of sea salts and the fishing industry. Undated. Dated by a copy held at the British Library. In a full calf prize binding for 'Boston Grammar School'.
