‎Monumentale édition définitive du Règne animal dite des « Disciples ». C’est l’œuvre la plus influente de la première moitié du XIXe siècle pour la classification zoologique. Publié pour la première fois en 1817, l’ouvrage servit de texte de référence dans toute l’Europe durant près de cinquante ans. En présentant des descriptions précises de groupes d’animaux apparentés, tels que les éléphants vivants et les mammouths éteints, Cuvier fournit des preuves convaincantes pour le changement évolutionniste aux lecteurs, y compris Charles Darwin (bien que Cuvier lui-même ait rejeté la possibilité de l’évolution). ‎These three volumes catalogue the extensive corpus of mycological drawings in the Paper Museum of Cassiano dal Pozzo. Executed mostly in watercolour between 1625 and 1630 and depicting fungi native to Umbria and the environs of Rome, they constitute the first sustained attempt to survey all the larger fungi of a region, recording in detail the stages of their growth. Laden with notes on colour, smell, taste, weight, season and the locality in which the specimens had been found, the almost six hundred folios were commissioned by Federico Cesi (1585-1630), founder of Europe?s first scientific academy, the Accademia dei Lincei. They were acquired by Cassiano dal Pozzo after Cesi?s death and were greatly admired by those who saw them in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Thought to have been lost until their rediscovery in 1979 in the library of the Institut de France in Paris, the drawings are also remarkable for their pioneering use of the microscope, a novel instrument given to Cesi in 1624 by Galileo and used throughout the pages of these manuscripts to enhance the direct observation of nature. Also included are drawings of fungi commissioned by Cassiano and his brother Carlo Antonio dal Pozzo now in the Royal Library, Windsor Castle, and an early set of copies of the Cesi originals in the library of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. Each drawing is reproduced in colour with accompanying text, and two introductory essays discuss the scientific investigations and collecting activities of Cesi and Cassiano and the importance of these drawings in the history of science and art. Il fut également un collectionneur et un philanthrope éclairé, auteur de nombreuses publications portant sur de nombreux sujets tels que la faune et la flore, la généalogie, l’héraldique pour n’en citer que quelques uns. Son travail considérable et son œuvre conséquente sur la Haute Marne, reste une référence (1849-1944)‎

‎Manuscrit autographe signé de son ouvrage paru en 1907 « Les Juges de Paix et leurs œuvres » Publié à compte d’auteur, d’un tirage de 200 exemplaires, (selon une note de son créateur), disponible précisément à Lille, 3 rue Basse. Arthur Daguin fut juge de Paix de 1890 à 1909 agissant dans de nombreuses autres villes de France, en particulier dans celle de Lille, 2ème arrondissement. (1849- 1944).‎

‎Ce manuscrit de travail pour cet ouvrage, comporte plus de 40 pages in-4, avec de nombreux repentirs et corrections, où sont utilement insérées plusieurs épreuves d’imprimerie abondamment corrigées. Il fait référence à la bibliographie des volumes et plaquettes dus aux Juges de paix depuis la création des Justices de Paix, c’est à dire depuis 1780 jusqu’à nos jours, 1907, date de la publication.‎
