‎In late 2007, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) published The Challenge of Hunger, and stated: There are 854 million people who go hungry every day. Two years later, that number had increased to roughly 1 billion people. In the course of less than a year, nearly 100 million people had joined the ranks of the world's hungry. Rapidly increasing world food prices have increased world hunger in both developed and developing nations worldwide. The greatest concentration of the hungry and poor are found throughout South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. India, alone, constitutes nearly 45 percent of the world's hungry, and Sub-Saharan Africa is the home to another 35 percent. The United Nations, in 2001, formulated a series of development goals, which they called their Millennium Development Goals. The first of these goals is the Eradication of extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. This book explores some of the causes and effects of hunger and poverty in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Will these regions be able eradicate extreme poverty and hunger by the 2015 deadline? About The Author:- J. Albert Rorabacher, was born and raised in the American Midwest. ‎About the Book:- The Chief sources of information regarding the early history of civil society are first, the study of races in their primitive condition; and, second, the study of the symbols employed by advanced nations in the constitution or exercise of civil rights. From these studies pursued together, we obtain to a large extent, the power of classifying social phenomena as more or less archaic and thus of connecting and arranging in their order the stages of human advancement. About the Autor:-John Ferguson McLennan FRSE LLD (14 October 1827 – 16 June 1881), was a Scottish advocate, social anthropologist and ethnologist. He was born in Inverness, the son of John McLennan, an insurance agent, and his wife, Jessie Ross. He was educated in that city, then studied law at King's College, Aberdeen, graduating M.A. in 1849. In 1865, McLennan published Primitive Marriage. In it he argued from symbolic and ceremonial forms of bride kidnapping (see also Types of marriage). His ideas had been partially anticipated by Johann Jakob Bachofen, writing in 1861 on matriarchy, but were independent. McLennan developed from ethnographic data a social evolutionist theory of marriage, and also of systems of kinship according to natural laws. He rejected patriarchal society as an early stage, arguing in favour of agnation as a more basic evolutionary point; he proposed an early model of social groups, a war band mainly male, practicing female infanticide and acquiring female sexual partners, with promiscuity and matrilineality salient features. Crack Capitalism ne rappresenta l’approfondita risposta. Una risposta all'apparenza semplice: creando zone di frattura nelle forme di dominio del capitalismo e lasciando che queste fratture si espandano. Secondo Holloway, le forme di vita, di relazione, di conflitto, di lavoro che si sottraggono alla logica del capitale non cessano di proliferare. Innumerevoli sono le istanze di produzione di spazi liberi, di spazi della «dignità». Ma per Holloway si tratta anche di dare a questi spazi una forma che non sia più in alcun modo riconducibile a quella del capitale, dunque una forma quanto più possibile lontana da quello dello Stato. La nuova grammatica della rivoluzione deve dunque partire dalla forma stessa dell’organizzazione, che è in quanto tale un momento di sottrazione alla dinamica del potere: dalla Comune di Parigi alle asambleas argentine, numerose sono le esperienze storiche e contemporanee a cui guardare. Sono questi momenti quotidiani di ribellione, nei quali sperimentare diverse modi di fare, che rappresentano delle vere e proprie crepe del sistema di sfruttamento.
