‎Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. - Äußerer Anstoß für die im vorliegenden Band dokumentierte Dresdner Tagung "Zwischen Emotion und Kalkül. ,Heimat' als Argument im Pro-zess der Moderne" im Frühjahr 2008 war die Gründung des Landesvereins Sächsischer Heimatschutz vor einhundert Jahren (1908). Dieses Jubiläum bot Anlass, über die historische Entwicklung und zeitspezifischen Bedingungen von Konstrukten regionaler Identität zu reflektieren sowie die aktuellen Prozesse räumlicher Orientierung im Spannungsfeld gesellschaftlicher Zuweisungen und subjektiver Aneignungen in den Blick zu nehmen. Heimat, Lokalität und Regionalbezüge sind gerade in der Gegenwart kulturwissenschaftlich neu zu reflektierende Größen geworden. Denn Umbrüche vollziehen sich auf wirtschaftlichem und gesellschaftlichem Feld: Lebenswelten werden zunehmend flexibel; Arbeitsmarkt und Wirtschaftshandeln internationalisieren sich, ihre Orientierung an verbindlichen Regeln wird schwächer. In diesem Zusammenhang hat die Annahme deutlicher Raumgebundenheit von Kultur an Geltung verloren. Damit stellt sich die Frage neu, welcher Stellenwert der Ortsbezogen-heit in der Moderne zukommt und wie diese hergestellt wird. Der konkrete Ort als identitätsstiftender Raum gibt sich dabei als Produkt sozialer Praxis und symbolischer Zuschreibungen zu erkennen. Und er verliert offensichtlich nicht an Relevanz. Die Muster raumbezogener Beheimatung, die sich in Reaktion auf die Zumutungen der Moderne herausgebildet haben, unterliegen freilich einem deutlichen Wandel. ISBN 9783865835086‎
