Lot 5 L.A.S., Rennes, juin 1874-juin 1875, 28p in-8. Intéressant ensemble de lettres adressées à Louis Paris (1802-1887), directeur de la revue Le Cabinet Historique. Il commande les 4 volumes de L'impôt du sang (publié par Paris chez Techener). Il lui précise ensuite de nombreuses anecdotes sur sa famille, dont le nom est aujourd'hui éteint, depuis 1569 jusqu'à son père qui a servi dans les armées vendéennes. Claude-Edmond est le dernier Gilbert. Il eut une fille mariée à Georges Leziard du Dezerseul. Sa famille était attachée aux gardes du corps du roi depuis de nombreuses générations et il apporte des détails sur ce sujet. Il écrivait à Paris en 1874 pour que celui-ci ajoute sa famille dans les autres volumes du livre. Et il le refait en 1875 en apportant les mêmes détails. Intéressant ensemble
