The volume closely written on 270-pages about 35000 words. An inscription at front relates that this volume was given to her by her sister Emily on her 22nd birthday 5th April 1859 "I mean to keep it always & not write extracts only but also about books I read & things I see". Much content of a religious nature family matters diary entries a moving account of her father's final days visits to Lyndhurst and a 36-page journal of a tour to Staffordshire in the autumn of 1871. The volume largely 1870's. With pasted-in a newspaper obituary of her father and two autograph letters signed from him one a fragment one dated Lyndhurst 2nd March 1870. He writes of his painting "I have been drawing very little lately. I made one view of the house at Landford but was too close to succeed well. I shall get Emily to put herself & children in it to enliven it. I have not yet seen the albums Dr. Josh. Bullar is getting up for the Infirmary I hope my contributions will not be entirely cut out by those sent by first rate artists." etc. unknown
