‎Die Deutschen. Auswahl der Texte von Hans Bender.‎

‎Zürich, Stuttgart, Fretz & Wasmuth, (1962). Quer-8°. 170 S. mit ganzs. Abb. OLn. mit illustr. OU.‎

‎Heiting/Wiegand 452 f. (mit mehr. Abb.). Koetzle 78 f. (mit Abb.). Parr/Badger I, 218. - "Burri's book would be more widly regarded as one of the best photobooks of the 1960s. Seen here in its German edition, Die Deutschen. which was published the year before Les Allemands. exactly mirrors Les Américains in conception - an extended photo-essay of the same size and similar design, with excerpted text from writers commenting on the country's national characteristics" (Parr/Badger).

Photographien 1957-1964‎

‎Testi e poesie di Hans Agnus Enzensberger in tedesco. 88 fotografie in bianco e nero di René Burri . 8vo (24,5 x 29). pp. 208. . Ottimo (Fine). . Prima edizione (First Edition). .

‎Text by Hans-Michael Koetzle. Edited in collaboration with Burri, each of 44 colour photographs and 378 black and white photographs is accompanied by a detailed caption . 4to. pp. 448. . Perfetto (Mint). . . . René Burri Photographs comprises the culmination of years of scholarly research by distinguished writer Hans Michael Koetzle into Burri's important contribution to reportage photography, resulting in an incisive introduction, a series of in-depth essays at the beginning of each chapter and in extended captions that accompany each image. The book is designed by prominent Swiss graphic designer Werner Jeker of ADN Design, Lausanne. In 21 thematically-organized chapters, we accompany Burri across Europe to the Middle East, Vietnam, Brazil, Cuba and beyond; we visit Picasso, Le Corbusier, Yves Klein and Giacometti in their studios; we witness political figures such as Che Guevara in repose, and Fidel Castro at the helm. A work of epic scope in its own right, this book is a magnificent tour de force.

Adrienne Burrows ; Iwan Schumacher. [Die Übers. besorgte Udo Rennert]‎

‎Frankfurt am Main : Syndikat, 1979. 159 S. : Illustr.; 30 cm; kart.‎

‎Gutes Ex.; Einband leicht berieben. ‎BURTIN, Delphine (1974)‎

‎Encouble‎

‎Fotografie a colori e in bianco e nero di Delphine Burtin. Testi in francese e inglese Esemplare 26/100. 4to (32x23 cm). pp. 50. . Ottimo (Fine). . Prima edizione di 100 esemplari numerati e firmati dall'Artista (First edition of 100 numbered and signed copies). . Duchamp's readymades meet Burroughs' cut-ups in Encouble. Merging photography with collage and construction, Burtin's art blurs the line between image and sculpture, between intention and, in the artist's phrase, "accident." Dynamic geometries, by turns as playful as Paul Klee and somber as Agnes Martin, gloss an illusion of order over images whose fluid forms continually invite and rebuff identification and interpretation. Some subjects are photographed as still lives, their status as objects—indeed, as shapes—undermined by deft choices of composition, angle, light. Others are intensely reworked—manually manipulated, photographed and rephotographed until the original object (if such a concept even applies here) is subsumed beneath layers of abstraction. The photographs become object and subject both: mysterious chromatic arrangements whose Benjaminian aura persists even as the they cohere and dissolve into and out of quotidian solidity, or familiar artifacts whose materiality becomes increasingly conjectural under what Duchamp might call retinal examination. Antiheroic in scale, semiotically monumental, and suffused with a wry wit both philosophical and visual in nature, these remarkable transubstantiatations audaciously efface the noumenal world while simultaneously adding to it.
