ill. Federigo Mori era nato a Montecatini nel 1837. Apparteneva ad una agiata famiglia montecatinese e si dilettò nell'arte della fotografia. I ritratti ritrovati nel suo album non riportano date, ma sembrano tutti appartenere ad un periodo intorno all'unità d'Italia e alla presa di Roma. Si tratta di immagini di parenti, di amici, di personaggi dell'epoca. Le didascalie scritte a lapis talvolta non risultano ben leggibili, in alcuni casi sono assenti. Questo antico album ha il pregio non solo di ricostruire le fisionomie di persone del passato e di far riemergere il ricordo di avvenimenti di circa 150 anni fa, ma il materiale stesso (le foto in quel periodo erano molto rare) rappresenta un valore storico importante su abitudini, stili, modo di vestirsi, ecc.
