Also this book does not tell of the organizations they belonged to and of their criminal leadership but of the young soldiers who - being deceived for their ideals - got right into the twilight of the world's opinion after the end of the war. Five hundred exciting photographs never before published illustrate the battles of a troop of which no one - not even its adversaries on the battlefield - denied its bravery and devotion. Photographs of unbelievable impression taken during heavy attacks or massive tank battles taken while invading ditches or taken while heavy defensive battles took place. These are not posed photographs: The SS War reporters literally took these pictures in the middle of fights with MPi sitting beside them. There are photographs from all fronts and of all divisions. Photos of well known troop commanders of the Waffen-SS illustrations of all weapons and vehicles used are shown as well. Never before has a book shown these divisions and their direct connection to battle. This book was put together from photographs which were to be destroyed on order of the Reichssicherheits-Hauptamt in 1945. The negatives were actually burnt mostly by accident. However approximately 100000 contacts remained untouched. The best have been chosen for this book.
