Small octavo xii 383 pages plus a duplicate title leaf printed in gold list of illustrations 13 original albumen paper photographs one mounted on the duplicate title leaf 12 mounted on gold-bordered leaves. Full brown morocco with a gilt-edged red morocco onlay in the shape of a cross on the front cover; spine compartments and sides bordered in blind; all edges gilt; covers a little rubbed and marked; spine a little sunned; a very good copy. A deluxe edition of Keble's influential collection of poems extra-illustrated with 13 original photographs of important religious paintings. This copy comes from the collection of South Australian pastoralist Henry Dutton 1844-1914 and contains an additional albumen paper photograph portrait of him mounted on the recto of the frontispiece. A calligraphic inscription in red and black on an early blank reads: 'An Offering to Henry Dutton from the Chorister Boys of Christ Church North Adelaide October 1871'. Illustrator: Photographic. the text is illustrated over 250 black-and-white photographs of Edinburgh � no date easily found but given the clothing on people and the general air the photographs probably late 19th century early 20th century. 1/4 green coloured cloth covered back strip. 34 dark green coloured text textured cloth covered boards with gilt embossed titles and decoration to the front panel. A photographic essay of Edinborough in the late 19th or early 20th century with a list of places to visit and a city map included. paragraph This book is showing age and use � please see photographs. Softening rubbing and a little fraying of the back strip edges. The backstrip also is shows some holes � looking suspiciously like insect damage. Quite noticeable rubbing of the back strip edges and panels. The underlying board is visible at the corners and there is quite a nasty stain to the top right hand corner of the new panel. Light tanning of the text block edges and the paste-downs. Unfortunately the book is not paginated and there is a small piece that has been ripped to 1 of the small photographs � 20 pages from the end of the book. The hinges are slightly loose.
