From jacket: "The Southeast Coast sweeps from Assateague Island and the Maryland-Virginia border to Cumberland Island Georgia. Between these two points lies a beautiful often wild sometimes developed shoreline of outer banks bays beaches sounds harbors and sea islands. It is a place for salt water marshes wildlife refuges and abundant marine life. On remote Assateague Island roam wild ponies. Photographs include young egrets on remote Wassaw Island's National Wildlife Refuge and a brown pelican atop its nest at Cape Romaine National Wildlife Refuge. Here too are the grace and beauty of traditional homes reflected in Colonial Lake located in Charleston's 300-year-old historic section. Savannah's charm is exemplified in the 1841 Sorrel-Weed House.
