This monograph was prepared to accompany the exhibition at Silverstein Photography in New York in January through February 2008. Essay by Max Kozloff. Frank Paulin (1926- ) was born in Pittsburgh and by the end of the 1950's was studying at the New School under the renowned art director Alexey Brodovitch. In 1957, Paulin celebrated his first solo artist exhibition at the Limelight Gallery. This book shows Frank Paulin's work to be in the same genre as other New York School photographers of the 1950's and 60's. All photographs reproduced in black & white. Superb book. This is a very good hardcover copy in a very good dust jacket with just light wear to the top edge of the front panel. There are no tears or rips or chips. Completely clean inside and out. Essay by Melissa Kuntz. Scott Peterman's color photographs of ice fishing shacks in Maine and New Hampshire are hauntingly beautiful. Spare large photographs with a small ice shack made of wood, sometimes painted, at the center. No people or animals.
