Bingham and Moore followed the Panthers for months from Oakland to New York to Los Angeles only to have the story pulled due to a disagreement between Moore and the magazine. ‎Photo Advertising Parade Float Featuring a Model of a Silk Mill ca. 1880s‎

‎Boudoir card 5" x 8" albumen photo on the mound of "Richardson Artist" showing a team of horses pulling a large model factory building with the words "Glenwood Mills Dress Silks" on the roof. Not further identified but most likely the Glenwood Mills in Easthampton Massachusetts which according to an account in the Fitchburg Sentinel began manufacturing dress silks in August 1881.  We have been unable to locate an image of that factory for comparison likely because it burned to the ground in 1887.  Several flags are mounted on the building suggesting it may have been part of an Independence Day parade. In any case it surely would have been an attention-grabbing form of advertising. Mount is chipped at one corner and rubbed at the others; image very good. . unknown‎
